After a few months of dating and cross country trips back and forth; Chandni was exhausted from the red-eye planes, the time changes and not knowing where this whole relationship thing was going. She was enamored by the “chi-boy” from Chicago whose witty one liners kept her laughing, his gentle touch and ability to know her moods kept her grounded and in love. He would travel to the airport to pick her up with either a snicker bars or Indian snacks based on the weekend and what he thought she would love the most on that day. He was the perfect complement to her as he shared her enthusiasm to try new things, ate at new restaurants and loved and encouraged her whimsical nature. They fell in love quickly as they bonded over food, sports and reality TV. Over time those redeye planes became more of a gift than a curse as it let them spend just a few more hours together. After Nigam finally proposed they decided to settle down in Chicago – the land of great pizza, great sports and their love for adventure.
Their wedding took place in Washington DC; right outside one of their most frequent locations; the airport. Throughout the wedding Nigam joked how he could recognize where the plane was going based on the trajectory – as Chandni rolled her eyes she still batted those pretty lashes at Nigam that made him smile and fall ever more in love. Their Hindu ceremony started out in the early morning and friends and family gathered to dance throughout the Baratt and watch the two of them profess their love for each other. He promised to always put her needs before his and not buy too many toys without her permission. She promised to always stand by his side and feed him when he was hungry. After a beautiful Indian Wedding they partied the night away with a gorgeous reception filled with amazing music, fantastic friends and a party that didn’t end.
