He noticed her when they both attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She was always the stylish one. Perfect outfit, the highest heels, breathtakingly gorgeous and on top of it all, she was intelligent. He knew from the moment he first laid eyes on her on the UMBC campus that he had to get to know her, but it would not be that easy. Years went by, three to be exact, until Samir landed in the perfect opportunity to be able to finally spark up a conversation with Vita. It was late April during their senior year in college. Samir was on his way to the gym, proudly rocking his UMD hat and gym clothes. As he walked by the library on his way to the gym, he saw her. There she was, walking on the sidewalk directly towards him! He nearly stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of her. What should he do, he asked himself. He was in his gym clothes, and there she was amazingly dressed. It was now or never, he told himself, so a deep breath and a few small steps later he did it. He said hello, she smiled and they began talking casually. A few meetings later and they were hooked, forever. Literally.
Samir and Vita’s engagement session began in Glen Echo Park in Maryland. The historic Glen Echo proved to be the ultimate location for our lovebirds due to its unique backdrops and playful atmosphere. Despite the heat and the thick humidity Samir lovingly pushed Vita on a swing set and even challenged her to see who would swing higher. Our couple proved to be fearless and climbed atop the beautiful Chautauqua Tower and posed for some stunning images. After skipping through the park and taking in the historic beauty, we quickly made our way to Baltimore, Maryland before the steamy weather became unbearable. We began the second half of our session in the University of Maryland Law school library. Vita obtained her JD from Maryland and spent countless hours studying amongst the high towers of books. We made Samir do some dare devilish stunts that we’re sure would have gotten us kicked out of the library had there have been students around (thank goodness for summer break)! One final stop to the North Harbor for a few quick snaps outside the location of their soon to be nuptials and we called it a wrap!
When I heard that Samir had proposed to my longtime friend Vita, I was elated. I eagerly looked forward to their engagement session and now like a child awaiting Christmas morning, I cannot wait until their wedding festivities begin.
