The Royal Wedding: A True Love Story

Get ready, get excited the Royal Wedding is here! Almost 30 years after Prince Charles’ and Princess Diana’s elaborate and much-watched nuptials, their first-born son, William, soon will be tying the knot. On April 29, the prince and his fiancé, Kate Middleton, will marry in front of a world audience.

It’s guaranteed that the wedding will be a breathtaking pageant that inspires millions of young ladies around the globe. From Queen Victoria to Princess Diana, and now Kate, this one will surely be one for the record books.

Kate and William met while studying at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Their romance grew over ten years. While on vacation in Kenya in October 2010, the Prince decided to make his move. He and Kate were on an amazing adventure visiting the Lewa Downs Wildlife Conservancy, Manda Bay and Rutundu. The two lovebirds were by a lake next to the slopes of Mount Kenya in an area that is only accessible by helicopter. Being an RAF pilot, William personally flew them over in a rented chopper.

When the moment was perfect, Wills proposed to Kate with his late mother Diana’s oval sapphire and diamond engagement ring. His father, Prince Charles, gave the ring to Diana in February 1981 and now it belongs to Kate.

Fast forward to wedding day, thousands of people, including the Royal family, are preparing for the wedding. The general congregation will be arriving at Westminster Abbey in the morning. Guests will continue to arrive until the Queen, Prince William, and Kate appear on the balcony together with their families. There will then be a fly past from the Royal Air Force and Battle of Britain Memorial Fight.
